Introduction

EZ3 (EZ Series) is an indoor, compact, low cost easy to use ultrasonic range sensor with narrower beam width than other EZ2 Series Ultrasonic sensor from MaxBotix. EZ3 is a narrow beam sensor with good side object rejection and it has slightly wider beam width than the EZ4 which makes it a good choice for when the EZ4 does not have enough sensitivity for the application. It gives range output in terms of analog voltage, serial data and PWM signals. You can cascade many of these sensors together to take distance reading of the surrounding area without any interference from the adjacent sensor.
To select correct sensor for your application refer to Sensor Selection Guide
With 2.5V - 5.5V power the EZ3 provides very short to long-range detection and ranging, in an incredibly small package. It detects objects from 15cm to 645 cm (6 inches to 254 inches) with the resolution of 2.5cm (1 inch). Objects closer than 6 inches range as 6 inches. It gives range output in the Analog, Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) and in the serial format which makes it very convenient for interfacing. EZ0 to EZ4 sensors have progressively narrower beam width. Select sensor according to your application.
